The Best Entertainment for Your Office Party

There are a few things that make an office party a failure. First is when no one attends. Second is the food is terrible. And lastly, when everyone gets terribly bored (and turns to social media for entertainment.)

Keeping everyone off their phones and happily entertained is a challenge, but one that can be overcome with enough preparation and creativity!

Set up a videoke machine. If you’ll be throwing an informal office party, Filipinos can’t resist grabbing the mic to belt out their favorite hits. And for those who don’t feel like being the center of attention, they love watching their officemates turn into wannabe rock stars!

Have a very short program. For bigger parties that actually need an organized program of the event, you’ll need a lively and fun host to begin with, and if you’re not into having song and dance numbers during the program, it’s better to keep the program as short as possible. Remember, the attention span of your guests is very short, so the shorter your program, the less chances of your guests of getting restless.

Hire a professional. If your office party is a big deal, perhaps your budget and program will allow for a showbiz personality that’s as big as your celebration. From a stand-up comedian to singers, the possibilities are endless when it comes to what kind of talent you wish to get.

Open up a dance floor. There will always be officemates who can’t wait to bust a move, making it easier for the rest of you to follow in his steps. Blast out the latest hits, or those that will make everyone feel like it’s throwback Thursday. Let your officemates do the rest.

Put up an activity wall. The most popular activity wall would be a photo booth, but there’s so much more that you can do along with it. You can put up a “graffiti” wall wherein you can ask all the guests to write a wish list for the company. You could also do something as easy and basic as a wall of hands, and display it in the office. Instant artwork!

Turn to social media. As they say, if you can’t beat them, join them! Give a prize to the most creative Instagram post for the night’s event. You can assign a hashtag to make it easier for you to find all the photos. Also, watch them be as busy as bees while documenting the entire event.
