Not everyone is requested to be a part of a debutante’s 18 Treasures. When you’re handpicked as such, be sure to prepare not just a heartfelt speech but also a special “treasure” that she will appreciate. It doesn’t have to be flashy or extravagant. What matters is giving her something that will guide her on the path to adolescence.
This is something that the lovely debutante could use on a daily basis—somewhere she can document her days, share her dreams, count her blessings, and relive her best adventures (hopefully with you in tow!).

For someone who’s interested in beauty but doesn’t know where to begin, give her a starter kit with the essentials: sunblock, moisturizer, concealer, pressed powder, eyebrow liner, and a lippie that she could use regularly. Go the extra mile by providing a card with notes on when or how to use each item.
Motivate the debutante with a message that she can wake up to and fall asleep gazing at.

For the debutante with a sweet tooth, indulge her with a box filled with her all-time favorite treats. Let her eat it “in case of emergency,” such as when she’s going through a stressful week or there’s absolutely no other food at home!
Pass on the life lessons you’ve learned over the years through good books you think she should also read. You can even jot down personal notes in the sides of the book so she can discover your thoughts about certain matters.

6. Plane ticket
Whether it’s a short weekend getaway or a two-week tour of a new country, a solo trip will allow the debutante to test her limits and experience the world at her own pace.
Give the debutante her first “adult” bag that’s customized with her initials, so she can use it for more grown-up events she’ll be attending! Don’t forget to get it in her favorite shade.

This is the best present to give if you’re into arts and crafts and have known the celebrant since you were kids. Aside from pictures, you can include stuff like movie stubs, Instax polaroids, random letters you’ve exchanged, and other memorable knickknacks you’ve collected over the years.
